Weird Takes

“Only by thinking even more crazily than the philosophers can one solve their problems.”

Without waiting to be inspired by this Wittgenstein quote, many public intellectuals pushed the frontiers of creativity and humour by providing us with delightful quotes, best used out of context.

Weird Takes is a hybrid of Go Fish and 20 questions, where stealing cards requires you match quotes and thinkers, from Gandhi and Tolstoy to Freud and Da Vinci.

It is also a small game, being made (including a physical prototype) as part of a 24-hour game jam in May 2025.

The PDFs provided are the fronts and backs of the cards separately. The backs meaningfully correspond to the fronts! Print them that way to have the same colour distribution in every series.
